December 2024 Shipping Update
With several freight companies introducing surge pricing and limiting services to third-party customers, I think it's a good time to restate our commitment to fair pricing.
As long as the Canada Post strike continues, we will continue to feel the downstream effects. We do not ship any orders via Canada Post, but the double-whammy of the strike and the holiday season are overloading the freight companies.
Canadian Luthier Supply employs several different couriers in order to secure a consistently fair price for our customers. This is why we charge a fixed price that is calculated from the size and weight of your order, rather than passing the carrier's charges directly to you. Shipping costs can fluctuate significantly for reasons that are often unclear to me, and I don't feel right not knowing why one customer is paying so much more than another.
Because of this, during the strike CLS will not be increasing our shipping fees. That said, you should expect a longer-than-usual time in transit.
Reminder: most of our products are made-to-order, and we are maintaining a production time of 7-10 business days before the items ship from our facility in Kingston.
